The Broncos will have to get used to the idea that they might not get their first marijuana test back anytime soon.
A team spokesperson confirmed the team is testing for the drug again this season, and coach Gary Kubiak believes it will help get his players prepared for the upcoming season.
“I’m confident it’s going to be something we’ll be able to use,” Kubiak said on KNBR radio on Monday.
“I think we’ve got a lot of guys on our roster that have been through that process.
We’re just going to have to be a little bit more diligent and use some common sense in our testing process.”
Kubiak has a reputation for using the wrong substances during his time as Broncos head coach.
Kubiak was fined for using an illegal substance while in the NFL in 2016, but his only penalty came for not testing positive in the AFC Championship Game.
Kubiac’s last season in Denver was cut short after he was fired by the Broncos in October.
