A man who says he suffered a serious head injury after he was hit by a car on I-395 in Washington state was able to walk away with a broken leg.

Heather Miller, a 30-year-old woman, suffered a broken ankle and is in a critical condition in a hospital, WAMU reported.

Miller was traveling on I 395 southbound in Tacoma when she struck the back of a Toyota Tacoma, WABC reported.

She was traveling at a speed of 50 mph in the southbound lanes.

The accident happened about 2:45 a.m.

Friday.

The man who hit her was able, Miller told WAMY, to get off the freeway and walk her to a nearby hospital.

Miller said she’s lucky she didn’t have a serious injury.
